The first Belgrade Philharmonic Festival will be held February 2-13, 2021, and will include as many as 10 performances by various ensembles in the Belgrade Philharmonic Hall (7:00 pm). The orchestra and Chief Conductor Gabriel Feltz will be together again and our audience will also be able to hear our philharmonic orchestra musicians grouped in interesting chamber ensembles.
The first Belgrade Philharmonic Festival is being created with the intention of finding new solutions for overcoming the limitations imposed by the COVID-19 epidemic. Our answer to being forced to welcome our audience in significantly reduced numbers is to prepare a significantly increased number of concerts.
Gabriel Feltz and the Belgrade Philharmonic will perform two programs that will be played on six concert evenings. The festival will open with the Evenings of Mendelssohn (February 4-6), and closed by the works of Stravinsky, Mahler, and Schubert (February 11-13). Our chamber ensembles will include an unusual duet of harp and oboe playing the works of the French Impressionists (February 2), followed by a combination of winds and strings performing Beethoven and Shostakovich (February 3), a piano trio with violin and cello with Brahms and Mendelssohn (February 9), and a string quartet playing Beethoven and Mozart (February 10).
For concert reservations please call 2623184 as of Monday, February 1. Tickets are free and available for up to two festival concerts. All concerts start at 7:00 p.m.
