REFORMATIONS
Composer Petar Stojanović holds a special place in the history of Serbian music, having made a near-reformist contribution to Serbian concert music with his works for violin and, notably, the first Saxophone Concerto in Serbian history. Milan Savić will premiere this piece, accompanied by the experienced maestro Uroš Lajovic, the Philharmonic’s Honorary Conductor. The concert opens with an overture by the great operatic reformer Carl Maria von Weber, and culminates with Mendelssohn’s Symphony No. 5, Reformation.
