Ј. N. Hummel:
Trumpet Concerto
Ј. Brahms/ A. Schönberg:
Piano Quartet Op. 25
Under the leadership of French conductor Marc Piollet, this series will be opened by Tine Thing Helseth, one of the most sought-after trumpeters of the younger generation. Following the overture to Carl Maria von Weber’s Der Freischütz, the first significant German opera of the Romantic period, Tine will play Hummel’s Trumpet concerto, well-known by all regular concertgoers. The central piece of the evening will be a real treat for the connoisseurs: Brahms’ Piano Quartet Op. 25, considered one of the most important pieces of its genre, arranged for orchestra in 1937 by Arnold Schönberg, which will be its first performance in this version for our audience.
