Igor Lazić, principal
Member of the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra since 1999.
Igor Lazic, born in 1978 in Belgrade, began playing the horn at the age of ten in the class of Professor Zoran Mrdjenovic. He started his academic studies under Prof. Stjepan Rabuzin at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade and continued at the Hochschule für Musik Trossingen (Germany) under the guidance of Professor Francis Orval, where he completed the highest level of music studies (solistische ausbildung). In 2005, he completed his master’s degree at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade.
Lazić has been a member of the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra since 1999, serving as the principal hornist since 2001. As of 2003, he is also engaged at the Chamber Music Department of the Faculty of Music in Belgrade, where he currently holds the position of Associate Professor.
He has performed with numerous chamber ensembles, such as the Brass Ensemble of the Faculty of Music in Belgrade, Belgrade Horn Quartet, Trossingen Brassquintet, Pulank Blaeserquintet, Isang Yun Ensemble (contemporary music ensemble), and Altemusik Ensemble (early music ensemble). In the summer of 2001, he took part in the Gustav Mahler Jugend Orchester summer tour under the batons of Ivan Fischer and Franz Welser-Möst.
Since 1995, he has been performing as a soloist with chamber and symphony orchestras both in the country and internationally.
