Legendary conductor Zubin Mehta, a great friend of the Belgrade Philharmonic and Serbia, has sent a video message of support, which has been posted on the BP’s Facebook profile.
“Ivan Tasovac, good day; how are you? I send you and all my colleagues of the Belgrade Philharmonic my sincerest and warmest greetings. I hope with all my heart that this difficult time will pass soon and we will make music together again as always,” the famous conductor said.
During his last visit, Maestro Mehta expressed his desire to commemorate the 60th anniversary of his first appearance with the Belgrade Philharmonic, and the date of that gala concert will be known soon.
Zubin Mehta has conducted the Belgrade Philharmonic eight times, most recently as a special guest at our first open-air concert in 2017. As a great friend of the Belgrade Philharmonic, Maestro Mehta is always ready to support the orchestra with which he performed for the first time at the beginning of his career and with which he has been intensifying relations in the new millennium. One of the greatest conductors of our time is happy to return to Belgrade, building on a friendship that has long since gone far beyond music and art.
