Bachtrack: Belgrade Philharmonic – a First-rate Orchestra
Bachtrack, a major international website for reviews and listings of classical concerts, declared the Belgrade Philharmonic a first-rate orchestra. The concert held at Kolarac on February 2, 2018 under the baton of Chief Conductor Gabriel Feltz was rated four stars, in other words an excellent event that will be one of the best things you’ve seen in classical music this year.
“Throughout the concert the Belgrade Philharmonic showed that this is a first-rate orchestra – which may be obvious in Serbia but a pleasing revelation to those of us from further away,“ wrote Peter Connors for Bachtrack. In a review titled “Ghosts and musical magic from Gabriel Feltz and the Belgrade Philharmonic“, he also noted the phenomenon of sold-out concerts, standing tickets and the entire season’s program, which was assessed as very creative.
The world’s leading website for classical music reviews publishes reviews in four languages, read by 250 000 people every month. Bachtrack features interviews with renowned contemporary artists, as well as announcements of key events and festivals worldwide. Bachtrack first wrote about the Philharmonic in 2014, in “Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra gives solid performance on first US tour”, after the concert at Severance Hall in Cleveland, and assessed it as an orchestra to watch in the future, with potential to be top-notch.
