The Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra proudly presents Sergey Malov, an extraordinary musician who will perform on three different instruments on Friday, November 1 at the Kolarac Hall. Known for his multi-instrumental virtuosity, Malov will lead the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra while showcasing his unique mastery of the violin, viola, and violoncello da spalla through three distinctly varied compositions.

Sergey Malov is celebrated for his versatility and technical prowess, playing not only the violin and viola but also the Baroque violin and violoncello da spalla. His repertoire spans from early Baroque to classical and romantic violin concertos, as well as world premieres of contemporary pieces. This concert offers the Belgrade audience a rare opportunity to experience this remarkable talent as he shifts seamlessly between roles, instruments, and genres in a kaleidoscopic program with the philharmonic orchestra.

Malov will perform Britten’s Lachrymae for viola and string orchestra and Gulda’s innovative concert in a version arranged for violoncello da spalla, blending blues, rock, polka, and free jazz. In the second half of the night, the program takes a dramatic turn with Khachaturian’s Violin Concerto, inspired by Armenian folk melodies.

In addition to Malov’s performance at Kolarac Hall, the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra will offer teenage audiences a chance to attend rehearsals with the artist on Wednesday and Thursday. This will be a unique way for high school students to connect with an exceptional talent and explore a wide range of musical genres through a direct encounter with this distinguished musician.
