Directly from the first violin rostrum – DJ Jelkinja takes to the DJ desk
At the Belgrade Philharmonic’s second “Late Night Classic” afterparty, violinist Jelena Dimitrijevic will try her luck as DJ at the “Taman” Club, on Friday, January 25, at 11:00 p.m. After the Belgrade Philharmonic’s concert at Kolarac Hall, directly from the first violin rostrum, our violinist will stand behind the DJ desk as DJ Jelkinja and play classical music in the heart of the Savamala District.
At our first “Late Night Classic” event, Director Ivan Tasovac took on the role of DJ and played his choice of classical music at one of the central locations of Belgrade’s bubbly night life, really pumping up the volume with the Ride of the Valkyries, the Imperial March, the Saber Dance, Thus Spake Zarathustra, The Barber of Seville, Bolero, and now DJ Jelkinja will launch her own selection of classical music and give the clubbers a really great time, full of moving and grooving.
The afterparty will be organized after the concert of famous clarinet superstar Andreas Ottensamer, who himself has participated in similar events in popularizing classical music in Berlin’s techno clubs. And the Belgrade Philharmonic, in cooperation with the “Taman” Club, will extend classical music to the club scene and prove that it is possible to dance and rave to classical music just like in a disco club.
