The Belgrade Philharmonic’s Third Open-Air Extravaganza 

Disney Fantasia will be performed by the Belgrade Philharmonic and Chief Conductor Gabriel Feltz at a free gala open-air performance on June 23, 2019. For the first time in this part of the region, on our traditional Philharmonic Picnic at Belgrade’s Ušće grounds, our audience will enjoy the most beautiful animated spectacle of all time accompanied by the most famous works of classical music played live by our orchestra under the big screen.

The Belgrade Philharmonic has received the right to present and perform this sensational production – a high-quality projection in high definition, which is a compilation of Walt Disney’s original 1940s animated film “Fantasia” and the film “Fantasia 2000,” officially never shown in our region. All generations will have a unique opportunity to enjoy this combination of traditional animation and computer-generated imagery. In addition to the famous scenes of Disney’s celebrated classics such as “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice” with Mickey Mouse or the legendary dance of ostriches, hippos, elephants, and crocodiles, we will see new sequences from the reconstructed masterpiece, premiering at the concert of the Belgrade Philharmonic.

At our first open-air concert, the Belgrade Philharmonic brought together 25,000 people at our music picnic in 2017, and the following year 40,000 people enjoyed the HD Odyssey, with classical music accompanying NASA footage of the universe. This year, we expect 50,000 people from the entire region to attend this extraordinary animated concert.
