The Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra will introduce itself to Budapest, at the famous Palace of Arts (Müpa), in a concert scheduled on 20 November. Under the baton of Fabrice Bollon, our orchestra will appear together with Müpa’s artist of the season, violinist Kristóf Baráti. There has been huge interest for the concert of the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra at this prestigious venue and all tickets are sold out.
 
More than 1500 people at the Palace of Arts will first become acquainted with Serbian music through Tajčević’s Seven Balkan Dances for Orchestra. For Paganini’s Violin concerto No 1 and Ravel’s Tzigane, the Belgrade Philharmonic will be joined by Kristóf Baráti, one of the most important artists of his generation, who performs with the world’s most renowned orchestras. A regular collaborator of the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra, Fabrice Bollon with conclude our orchestra’s introduction with the magical sounds of Stravinsky’s Firebird.
 
The Palace of Arts Müpa is the best known cultural brand and the most modern cultural institution in Hungary. For more than ten years, its concert seasons have included world-class events, introducing new and modern trends of different genres juxtaposed with the Hungarian and European tradition. The building itself is one of the most modern temples of art in Europe. Its hall, conceived as a contemporary gothic cathedral, is famous for top-notch acoustics and technology. Immediately after inauguration, it was included among the top five venues in the world, which was soon affirmed by artists of the highest reputation.
 
For the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra, an invitation from such a prestigious institution is a special honour and an opportunity for international promotion, in which the orchestra has invested a lot of effort, as well as for the presentation of our country. In its history, the Belgrade Philharmonic has performed in Budapest three times, the last one in 1980.
