New Year’s concerts are long-awaited events for our faithful audience who is impatiently waiting for the dates of the craziest Orchestra’s performances. Fans are already used to the orchestra surprising them with unusual appearances and performances, so for the end of this year, waltzes are being prepared, but in a philharmonic way.
One-two-three, two-two-three… The ballroom dance, which brought close embrace of the dancing couple and hence shocked polite society, eventually became one of the symbols of Vienna and the trademark of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. Unlike its Viennese counterpart, the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra will give its own preference of waltzes – from symphonic, through Bernstein’s and Gould’s, to film music. The fans can expect everything but Johann Strauss!
Maestro Moritz Gnan, one of the most sensational conductors of his generation, will conduct both concerts. Gnan’s acclaim and outstanding reviews for his innovative approach to his wide repertoire, make him a great choice for the Philharmonic’s New Year’s performances.
