Khatia Buniatishvili, one of the world’s greatest pianists, will perform with the Belgrade Philharmonic at the grand opening of the 53rd Belgrade Music Festival (BEMUS) at Kolarac Hall on Monday, November 1, 2021, at 8:00 p.m. Under the baton of conductor Marco Parisotto, she will perform Tchaikovsky’s famous Piano Concerto No. 1. The concert program also includes works by Glinka and Rachmaninov.

Khatia Buniatishvili is a glamorous superstar whose persona goes beyond classical music. She started playing piano at the age of three and had her first concert performances only a few years later, followed by dizzying successes that make up her brilliant biography.

The name Khatia Buniatishvili is exclusively associated with the world’s most prestigious music venues and festivals. She performs regularly at Carnegie Hall, the Hollywood Bowl, Vienna’s Musikverein, La Scala in Milan, and at festivals such as the BBC Proms and Verbier.

This famous pianist and the Belgrade Philharmonic both have in common a great friendship and close cooperation with Zubin Mehta. In addition to numerous performances with the legendary conductor, Khatia collaborates with top conductors including Paavo and Neeme Järvi, Gustavo Dudamel, Mikhail Pletnev, Vladimir Ashkenazy and many others.

The Belgrade Philharmonic is performing with this impressive pianist for the first time, thus joining the list of the best ranked orchestras in the world, including the Israeli, Los Angeles, Munich, and Vienna philharmonic orchestras and the Royal Concertgebouw in Amsterdam…

The Belgrade Philharmonic will open the 53rd BEMUS with Glinka’s Ruslan and Lyudmila Overture, followed by Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1, and ending with Rachmaninov’s magnificent Symphony No. 1.
