World-Famous Conductor Zubin Mehta Leads the Belgrade Philharmonic for the Tenth Time
Event of the year: gala concert with Zubin Mehta and the Belgrade Philharmonic
The Belgrade Philharmonic is proud to announce a concert with world-famous conductor Zubin Mehta at Kolarac Hall on July 10, 2021, at 8:00 p.m. The event of the year, also the tenth meeting of the maestro and the Belgrade Philharmonic, has been planned and expected for a long time, and will be dedicated to Beethoven and Brahms.
“I am extremely happy and proud to return to one of my favorite orchestras – the Belgrade Philharmonic, which I have known since 1958. We have a long-lasting friendship during which we have created a common history. I am very happy that the new concert hall that this wonderful orchestra needs and deserves has finally become the present,” the maestro said on the occasion of his new appearance with the Belgrade Philharmonic.
The special friendship that Maestro Mehta cultivates with the Belgrade Philharmonic and Director Ivan Tasovac is now being marked for the tenth time. For this occasion, the maestro has chosen Beethoven’s Pastoral Symphony and Brahms’ Symphony Number One, also known as “Beethoven’s Tenth.”
At the age of 85 the legendary maestro is an active conductor of immeasurable greatness. He has been present on the world’s music scene for more than 60 years with performances that have become historic. As a great friend of the Belgrade Philharmonic, Zubin Mehta is always ready to help the orchestra with which he has a unique connection. Always advocating the importance of the Belgrade Philharmonic’s new concert hall, the last time the maestro conducted our orchestra was in 2017, as a special guest at the first open-air concert in our orchestra’s history. Numerous performances are remembered, including the donor concert with which Mehta helped realize our great dream – the first tour of the United States, which the Belgrade Philharmonic completed very successfully in October of 2014.
Tickets for the gala concert will be on sale from July 1, 2021, and can be purchased at the Kolarac ticket office as well as online. The ticket price are 3.000, 4.000 and 5.000 RSD.
