The Belgrade Philharmonic Octet will give a free concert at the Belgrade Philharmonic Hall on Monday, 28 March 2016, at 7pm. The programme includes one of the most beautiful pieces of the chamber music literature – Franz Schubert’s Octet.

With this gift concert, the BPO Octet announces its guest appearances in Vranje, Leskovac and Aleksinac, as part of the Philharmonic Plays South project, scheduled in the period 29–31 March.

“For the audiences in Belgrade, Vranje, Leskovac and Aleksinac, we will play Schubert’s Octet, which can rightfully be considered a symphony for chamber ensemble. I think that every cultural institution’s policy should focus on offering the best-quality cultural contents to the audiences outside of Belgrade. As much as the opportunity to visit a first-class musical event is beneficial for them, this performance, abstracted from its usual context and environment, poses an equally huge challenge for the eight of us”, said clarinettist Ognjen Popović.

Besides Popović, the Belgrade Philharmonic Octet members also include Concertmaster Tijana Milošević (first violin), Selena Jakovljević (second violin), Boris Brezovac (viola), Nemanja Stanković (cello), Boban Stošić (double bass), Nikola Ćirić (horn) and Sava Djurić (bassoon).
