Hugely successful cooperation with several international orchestras – a priceless professional experience! In particular, I would highlight my CD/DVD recordings and the concert tours throughout Europe with LSO Switzerland, brilliant soloists such as Fazil Say, Patricia Kopatchinskaja, Martha Argerich and Mischa Maisky and conductors John Axelrod and Neeme Järvi.

I am a straightforward, communicative and light-hearted person, always trying to project my positive attitude on the people around me. I am proud of my sons Nemanja and Damjan and of my wonderful wife Nataša.

Biography:

Milovan Jovanović, principal second violinist in the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra since 1988, studied the violin at the Belgrade Faculty of Music, in the class of Prof. Fern Rašković. Following his graduation, he attended masterclasses held by Nana Yashvili, Victor Pikayzen and Herman Krebbers. Active both as a soloist and a chamber musician, Milovan has received numerous national awards, including the Meri Dragutinović special award, traditionally presented by the Belgrade Faculty of Music for the best graduation performance at the strings department. For many years, he was the concertmaster of the Medikus chamber orchestra, under the leadership of Prof. Ž. Simonović. With this orchestra, Milovan gave more than 200 benefit concerts throughout Serbia, at the same appearing as the soloist, as well. In cooperation with the conductor and composer Aleksandar S. Vujić, he was one of the founders of the chamber ensemble Simfonieta, in which he still plays today.
 

In the 25 years of work in the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra, Milovan has cooperated with many internationally acclaimed conductors and soloists. Since 2008, Milovan Jovanović has been a visiting member of the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra, with which he has appeared in Europe’s greatest concert halls, including KKL Lucerne, Salle Pleyel in Paris, Auditorium RAI Arturo Toscanini in Turin and the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden. With the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra, he recorded a CD (with soloists Fazil Say and Patricia Kopatchinskaja and the conductor John Axelrod) and a DVD (with soloists Martha Argerich and Mischa Maisky and the conductor Neeme Järvi).
