Violin superstar to perform Beethoven’s famous violin concerto

Once again, renowned violinist Sergej Krylov will perform with the Belgrade Philharmonic at Kolarac Hall on Friday, 22 November, at 8:00 p.m. Under the baton of Maestro Howard Griffiths, Krylov will play Beethoven’s Violin Concerto. The concert program will also feature Symphony No. 4 by Robert Schumann.

Performing with the Belgrade Philharmonic for the fourth time and completely logically as part of our #beethovenrules series, Krylov will play Beethoven’s only concerto written for the violin, one of the most famous and technically challenging in music literature. A regular guest at major music venues and a favorite of the Philharmonic audience, he will play on a violin made by his father, Alexander Krylov.

“The Germans have four violin concertos. The greatest, most uncompromising, is Beethoven’s…” Those were the words of 19th century violin virtuoso and conductor Joseph Joachim, who connects the Belgrade Philharmonic’s concert program in an unusual way. Namely, it was to him that Schumann dedicated his symphony reflecting his affinity to Beethoven, a genius for whom he believed that all future composers were doomed to create in his shadow.

One hundred standing tickets will be on sale at the Kolarac Box Office from 7:00 p.m., one hour before the concert.
