The second concert of the series Inspired by Music is scheduled on Thursday, 21 January at 7pm, at the Belgrade Philharmonic Hall. The evening dedicated to Norwegian music, played by the Belgrade Philharmonic Brass Ensemble, will be directed by Jan Fredrik Christiansen, the trumpeter taking the role of the artistic leader.
 
The Norwegian “musical menu” starts with Knut Nystedt’s Requiem for nine brass instruments. The journey through this country continues with Geirr Tveitt’s Five suites from 100 Hardanger Tunes, and ends with Grieg’s Funeral March. The concert’s finale will bring the triumphant brass sound of Aaron Copland’s Fanfare for the Common Man.
 
The members of the chamber ensemble presenting itself at the second concert of this series are Tarek Bezvik, Gordana Stojnić, Siniša Roknić, Miloš Milošević (horns), Aleksandar Solunac, Vladimir Jovanović, Jovan Savić (trumpets), Tibor Balint, Nikola Milanov, Igor Ranković (trombones), Ivan Jovanović (euphonium), Kornel Papista (tuba), Boris Bunjac (timpani), Aleksandar Radulović and Nikola Krasnjuk (percussions).
 
The series Inspired by Music focuses on larger chamber ensembles, while upholding the concept of artistic leadership. In addition to acting like a magnet for the audience owing to their attractiveness, these programmes are also highly significant for the musicians, because playing chamber music refines and polishes the quality of their performance, while working in smaller ensembles enhances their mutual communication. The next concert of the Chamber Music Series is scheduled on 11 February, under the artistic leadership of Hagai Shaham.
